Iranian film wins two awards at Moroccan film festival

Iranian film has received two awards at Zagora Intl. Festival of Trans-Saharan Film.

Iranian film ‘A Minor Leap Down’ directed by Hamed Rajabi has received two awards at Zagora International Festival of Trans-Saharan Film in Morocco.

The movie which is the directional debut by Hamed Rajabi won the Best Film Award and the Best Actress Award at Zagora International Festival of Trans-Saharan Film on December 26.

The film is about Nahal who is a thirty-year-old woman. While she is spending her fourth month of pregnancy, she learns during a routine check-up that her baby has died and she now has two days to decide on a curettage abortion. When she tries to talk to her mother and her husband about the issue, none of them give her a chance to speak.

Iranian stars Negar Javaherian and Rambod Javan are among the notable casts of the movie.

The Zagora Association for Transaharan film is a film festival held in Zagora in Morocco. The festival is organized and held by international and national figures of cinema, with a varied scheduled program each year.

Along with holding a feature film category, the festival holds space for young people to explore filmmaking through workshops held by cinema experts.
